Looking at those cluttered countertops and that jumbled pantry it's hard to imagine any reasonable way of gaining back that control you once maintained and somehow surrendered slowly over time to the likes of a canister here, that sandwich maker there, the one that you just "had to have". For something a little different, consider a 3-tiered basket to hold things like fruit; apples oranges and tangerines would fit well in the different sizes and add a splash of color to the kitchen. Consider holding potatoes, onions and garlic in another. Hang one near the mugs to hold tea bags, hot chocolate packs and bags of coffee.
